Win £25,000 of Brand Support

31/07/2012

As a proud partner of the Evening Gazette’s 2020 Vision campaign, we’re launching a unique competition which is open to all business owners on Teesside. As you will already know, it doesn’t matter how brilliant your business idea is, you won’t get very far without a strong brand presence and an armoury of effective marketing tools.

Make sure your company is noticed. Take the necessary steps to invest in your future, and in the future of the region as it powers towards 2020.

WIN a £25,000 Boost for your Business.

Better, as a 2020 partner to the Evening Gazette, are offering you the chance to win a package of brand consultancy and design worth an impressive £25,000. The perfect prize for any business looking to revitalise its brand, or for a start-up looking to make its mark.

Following an initial scoping exercise, Better will appraise your business from a brand and communication perspective before recommending a programme of work designed to meet your commercial aspirations. This could include anything from the creation of a marketing strategy, brand development, website design/development/hosting to comprehensive social media training/ support.

It’s a prize that could make a massive difference to your firm’s chance of achieving long-term success in an increasingly-competitive market. Mark Easby, MD of Better, says: “We work in partnership with clients to identify the essence – the brand DNA – of their business upon which we can build a sustainable programme of effective brand-building, and then, we create the tools that are designed to raise awareness of what is special about that business and why people should choose them over their competition.”

Brand Director, Kate Burton, adds: “As a relative newcomer to Teesside, I have been blown away by the heritage of its industry and invention. I think that this is part of the DNA of the region and I want Better to be part of a team that gets this recognised again.”

Application Process.

All you have to do is create your pitch – think ‘Dragon’s Den’, without the nasty bits!

With a limit of 500 words, simply tell us how the ‘Better Prize’ will benefit your company. Visit the application form at www.gazettelive.co.uk/2020vision, or email 2020vision@eveninggazette.co.uk, in order to put your business in the running for this impressive prize.

A panel of judges will then select a shortlist from your entries and the work will begin to choose the winner.

2020 Vision – A Blueprint for the Region.

The chance to win a unique £25,000 prize for your business is another major boost for the Gazette’s 2020 Vision campaign. The Gazette launched it on January 23 this year as the paper’s most ambitious campaign yet – a rallying call for the region to unite behind a blueprint to support our industries towards 2020.

Since then, individual business leaders have shown us their passion for Teesside and their realisation that the region’s brand is a powerful tool when it comes to influencing the higher levels of Government.

With web coverage at www.gazettelive. co.uk/2020vision, weekly pages in our Business supplement, a series of major sector-led supplements through the year and @2020gazette – a Twitter feed of great stories, we are pulling out all the stops to fly the flag for Teesside – backed by the biggest business brands who are shaping the future of the region.

At the launch. Business Editor Mike Hughes said: “Teesside is a place of vision – a blast furnace of molten creativity, spirit and industry which has taken little more than 200 years to carve its name deep into the landscape of British innovation. Saying now with certainty what Teesside will look like and how it will fare in another 120 months is a mind-boggling task.”

“We Gazette can’t control everything. But together we are a region that will always have the vision and foresight to know what we want and map out the route we want to take. On one level, it is a challenge to the local authorities in Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland, Stockton, Darlington and Hartlepool to work as hard for the whole region as they already do for their individual areas.”

“But for the 2020 Vision campaign it goes far, far deeper than that and calls for a commitment from an army of Teessiders willing to stand up and be counted. They won’t only be supporting our campaign, they will be creating it and leading it and the Gazette will be proudly taking its place on the front line – just as it has been for almost 150 years.”
