After a year of transformation, our vision for 2012 is growth. We’ve matured and grown dramatically since setting up in 2008, and with our exciting plans for growth it’s time to up our game again. Sounds grand we know, however it’s definitely not all talk. To prove it we’re delighted to announce the appointment of Kate Burton as Brand Director.

Kate will add considerable experience to our existing agency team in terms of creativity, brand communications and client servicing, reinforcing our audacious ambitions for Better. Kate’s pragmatic and innovative approach to brand creation and management is based on over 20 years consulting with some of the world’s most iconic brands including ICI, Vodafone, Nike, BT, British Gas, Virgin, Diageo, Royal Mail and Nestlé. During her career, she has worked with London’s leading branding and design agencies – including Wolff Olins, Identica, JKR as well as WPP-owned Coley Porter Bell (as a Board Director) and Enterprise IG. The new Better Studio

So, we’ve been having an early spring clean in the studio ready for 2012 with a new studio space and board room with break out meeting area. It’s only been one day and we’re loving it so far. We’ve still got some final bits to finish off and some creative ideas for what we’re putting on the walls and then we’re pretty much done. (more…)

Christmas Office Hours

The wind down to the Christmas break has well and truly started in the Better Studio! Before we all leave to stuff ourselves with turkey and chocolate, we just wanted to let you all know that everyone will be back wide-eyed and ready to go on the 3rd January.  If you have any queries in the meantime just drop either Paul or Mark an e-mail and they will come back to you asap.

Three certainly is a better number for award winning local brand agency, Better as it celebrates both its third birthday and three years of solid growth.

Since its formation in 2008, in the midst of the economic recession, the Stokesley-based agency has gone from strength to strength. Keep Your Business Fighting Fit Conference

Many conferences make the claim that they are designed for their audiences, but -Business Link has literally asked attendees at the popular “Keep Your Business Fighting Fit” series of workshops “What do you need to be Fighting Fit?”, using the feedback to design this year’s Fighting Fit programme.

Over 50% of delegates attending the workshops answered “Social Media”. With such interest in this area, the programme was put together to include a Master Class on the subject delivered by Stokesley based brand & design agency, Better. Declan Metcalfe, Marketing Director is delivering the master class which will give the big picture on Social Media, looking at strategy, case studies of successes and how to make Social Media really work for your business and include Better’s own story of success. Better Recruits for Growth

Award-winning brand agency Better has made another key appointment due to the substantial growth experienced over the last twelve months.

Julie Moore who takes up the role of Studio Manager, joined Better from Codeworks, one of the North East’s leading membership organisations and conference creators. Julie will work closely with Better’s designers and developers on client projects and support the accounts team to ensure the company maintains an exemplary focus on creativity and customer experience. Better wins Culture for Success Awards 2011

The Culture for Success Awards are designed to applaud the expertise, talent and passion in the region. This annual get together of North East businesses provides a great opportunity to network and party with the best in the region. This year’s event took place at Northern Stage which is always a great backdrop to the awards. This year was to prove that again with a fantastic reception, live band and networking after the awards, and was attended by over 200 people from businesses in the North East. (more…)

A brand evolution.
I’m excited to let you know this will be our last newsletter under the existing brand. The company has grown significantly since we launched in 2008, and although the brand has helped position Better effectively we feel it’s time to change, although we’re not throwing the baby out with the bath water! We’re in the final stages of the re-brand that will see a new identity, language, website and supporting marketing materials which will develop the Better story for the next stage of business growth.
