Better Investment in Local Talent

Award-winning brand agency, Better, has appointed Ryan Crawford as a Junior Designer. Ryan, 22 of Trimdon Grange, recently graduated from Teesside University with a first class honours degree in Graphic Design. After leaving University Ryan enrolled on 10 week Graduate Internship Programme before joining the team full time.

Ryan will work alongside the agency’s Creative Director, Peter Jones, on brand, creative and print design projects and has already worked with the team on a number of recent projects. Ryan joins a team that has grown from the original 3 founders in 2008 to a powerful mix of 8 individuals specialising in digital and creative. (more…)

Social media and co-creation partnership set for rapid rise to power

A NEW joint venture between two North East firms is on target to see sales hit £1m in its first year after attracting interest from several national corporate giants.

Newcastle-based market research business Explain has joined forces with Teesside brand agency Better, to launch Better Communities. The Better Communities product is a bespoke private digital community backed up by specialist research software which allows companies with large customer bases to gain feedback and insight from their consumers.

The co-creation and engagement tool has already attracted interest from a number of blue chips from across Europe in several sectors including retail, manufacturing and utilities, and negotiations with a handful of multinational companies continue to progress. (more…)

ArtsBank select Better for brand development, ongoing creative and marketing support

ArtsBank is a major new artistic initiative, privately funded, and based on Teesside. Successful local businessman Bryan Goodall (FRSA and chairman of the Hambleton Group) has formed ArtsBank, with a £600k initial investment. ArtsBank aims to give a massive boost to the work of creative people across the north east, and beyond.

It has acquired and converted a substantial Victorian property (the old HSBC bank) in the heart of the beautiful and spectacular resort of Saltburn-by-the-Sea. The whole building has been transformed into a five-floor gallery and centre for the arts, with something for everyone. (more…)

Hairy charity prospect for forum members

Entrepreneurs Forum members are to join forces to raise funds for a men’s cancer charities this month…but their appearance in doing so might not be to everyone’s liking!

Better Brand Agency’s Mark Easby (@easbynow) and Declan Metcalfe (@DeclanMetcalfe) are joining forces with Quay2 Media’s Christian Cerisola (@ChristianCerisola) for ‘Movember’, a special month-long awareness campaign which aims to raise much needed funds for The Prostate Cancer Charity and Everyman by encouraging all males to grow a moustache throughout November. Global Entrepreneurship Week began life as Enterprise Week in the UK back in 2004. When news of the phenomenal success of Enterprise Week in the UK spread the globe, lots of other countries got excited at the potential of running similar initiatives in their own countries. So in 2008, Enterprise UK and the Kauffman Foundation (the world’s largest entrepreneurship foundation based in the US) founded the very first Global Entrepreneurship Week. (more…)

We’ve seen some good ones in the past, including ‘William the Concreter’ for a local builder but we reckon these ones take the biscuit. Take a look for yourselves…

Yarm School choose Better for website design and development

Yarm School, a coeducational day school, is situated in the attractive and historic town of Yarm on a beautiful stretch of the River Tees. It was established in 1978 to provide high quality education for pupils aged 11 to 18. It has its own Preparatory School for boys and girls aged 7 to 10, an Early School for boys and girls aged 4 to 6 years and a Nursery for 3 year-olds. In addition, there is a satellite junior school in Darlington, Yarm at Raventhorpe, run and owned as part of Yarm School. It accommodates 100 pupils 3-11. (more…)
